Crist will reveal how scripting and automation is being used by leading enterprises to deliver the agility they need in today’s digital economy.

Also at Cloud & DC Edge 2017 will be Dr Dennis Moreau, senior engineering architect at VMware, who will take a deep dive into the use of security analytics in leading data centres.

Crist and Moreau will join LinkedIn’s Yuval Bachar and Verizon’s Shawn Hakl as international keynote speakers at the summit.

LinkedIn’s principal engineer of global infrastructure architecture and strategy, Bachar will speak about Open 19, the new open standard for racks and servers, while Hakl, the global VP of product and new business innovation at Verizon, will explain the impact of new types of applications on infrastructure such as software-defined networking.

Glenn Gore, chief architect at Amazon Web Services, will also be at the event, discussing best practices in micro services and managing ‘IT sprawl’.

Cloud & DC Edge is the annual cloud and data centre summit iTnews runs in partnership with ADAPT Ventures.

The summit will also feature a number of leading local IT executives who we’ve mentioned previously, plus:

  • Katherine Squire, general manager of applications development at ASX, who will be speaking about getting DevOps right
  • Andrew Hatch, DevOps manager at SEEK, on how his company is managing cloud costs and mitigating the risks of a cloud-first strategy
  • Jon Curry, general manager of managed data centres at Telstra, on the current state and future of edge computing in Australia
  • Steve Manos, director of research platform services at the University of Melbourne, on software-defined infrastructure and building a nation-wide OpenStack cloud.

Cloud & DC Edge 2017 is being held at Royal Pines, Gold Coast, on 14-16 March 2017. You can request the agenda and purchase tickets here. But hurry, there are less than 50 tickets for summit left.
