Bob Correll, Deputy Secretary and chief information officer of DIAC said that under the terms of the new agreement, CSC will continue to provide mainframe and mid-range services to DIAC offices throughout Australia. CSC will also look after DIAC's overseas posts in support of the department’s core Border Critical Infrastructure initiative.
“In addition, CSC will provide DIAC with application maintenance and project services,” said Correll.
CSC was originally signed on to provide Border Critical Infrastructure services to the department on 1 July 2006, in a deal valued at about $55 million a year. That contract was set to expire in July 2009.
Nick Wilkinson, president of CSC’s Australia operations said: "CSC has been working with Australia’s federal market for more than 35 years and the Department of Immigration and Citizenship for more than 10 years".
