NBN Co will simplify the application process required for developers to have fibre approved for new housing estates.
The company said it would split the current application form into two parts from mid-April this year.
The two parts cover registration of the overall development, and then "subsequent development stages within that overall development", NBN Co said.
The network builder also made changes to the way it shows new housing developments on its rollout maps.
The enhanced maps can "display areas within new developments that have gone 'in-service'".
"This change will assist residents in these estates who can now enter their address and get confirmation that they have an NBN service available," NBN Co said.
NBN Co also said it had issued revised builder guidelines to prepare new homes for connection to the national network. (pdf)
The guidelines include updated advice on enclosures for NBN Co's network termination device (NTD) to ensure it does not trap heat generated by the NBN equipment.
Last month, NBN Co ramped up efforts to speed network connections into new multi-dwelling unit (MDU) blocks, by tackling the issue of strata permissions.
However, NBN Co continues to face challenges in meeting its obligations to roll fibre out to new housing estates.
Earlier this month, iTnews reported delays in the network rollout to greenfields sites, problems which were later acknowledged by NBN Co as ongoing.
"NBN Co has previously said that the Greenfield build is one of the most challenging aspects of the rollout, as it is based on demand from developers for works that are spread right across Australia," head of business operations Kat Stapleton said at the time.
"Connecting new developments is a particularly challenge in areas where NBN Co hasn't got existing network to connect premises to, and the rollout relies on a number of critical factors such as access to pit and pipe infrastructure in which to install."
