Geoff Jones, CEO of Ticketek said ‘Reserve A Seat’ was launched in conjunction with the debut of Priscilla Queen of The Dessert – The Musical.
“‘Reserve A Seat’ taps into how our customers connect. It helps to get a group together for a night out at the theatre or a day at the game,” he said.
'Reserve A Seat' is available on select events and is a three-step process; A customer purchases their own tickets and can then select the 'Reserve A Seat' tool to hold a limited number of adjoining seats for their friends for a set period of time; the customer then nominates the friends they would like to invite to purchase the seats on hold and 'Reserve A Seat' sends them an automated email invitation with all the event details, the number of seats on hold, the time period for purchase and a link to the purchase page; the invitee chooses to purchase as many seats as they wish from the number of hold and pays for them using the standard ticketek.com.au purchase process.
Reserve A Seat allocates seats on a first come first served basis and sequentially so there are no seating gaps and all the group gets together.
Jones said if the seats are not purchased within the time limit, they are automatically returned to sale.
