By

Encentuate Identity and Access Management (IAM) suite has many well-developed features that cover the full spectrum of administrator deployment and end-user authentication.

For: Super-fast user switching, well-developed enterprise functional support
Against: Technical support is offered but only by phone, very few supporting features on the website
Verdict: Used with other Encentuate products, this is a very strong product, especially for large environments

Review: ENCENTUATE IAM with iTAG 3.5
The product allows enterprise secure single sign-on, session management, workflow automation, audit and compliance all surrounded by seamless strong multi-factor authentication.

The company also allows users to authenticate via terminal services, Citrix and web browsers for added security. “Super-fast switching” allows multiple users to work from the same machine with just the swipe of an RFID chip over the iTag reader without a drop in workstation performance. The web workplace feature lets users authenticate to the corporate VPN and gain access to all applications from any internet-accessible remote location without having an agent installed on their device.

Encentuate has made this product straightforward to use and administrate. A web GUI interface is used to access the user management portal to assign logon credentials with pull-down policy menus and drag-and-drop workflow applications.

Performance was trouble-free from both an administrator and user perspective. The product is customisable and incorporates various unique requirements for logon screens and banners. The suite integrates with other third-party provisioning packages or can be customised to perform ID management on its own. Encentuate uses Active Directory to pull in user credentials in a simple format to make administration more efficient.

The installation and technical manuals are well written and easy to navigate. The good use of screenshots and illustrations is helpful during the deployment and administration of this product. The table of contents is hyperlinked and a full comprehensive glossary of terms is also present.

Encentuate offers premium 24/7 support. The website has a glossary and a limited FAQ but no self-support features.

The company offers a quick- start program for multi-factor authentication, single sign-on, session management and audit and compliance, including one year of maintenance, from £9,800 (A$21,958).
