The winners of the AusCERT Awards 2010 included Queensland cybercop Brian Hay - whose tireless efforts to promote the dangers of cybercrime saw him "wardriving" into mainstream news.

The Computer Crime Investigation Unit at the Major Fraud Investigation Group of Queensland Police Service was also honoured at the event, as was the Asia Pacific Computer Emergency Response Team.

The SC Award for vendor of the year, judged by a panel of security professionals, went to security compliance vendor WatchGuard, acknowledging the company's renewed focus on local channel partners, big customer wins and high levels of satisfaction among existing customers.

IT security consultancy Stratsec and firewall appliance vendor Imperva were highly commended in this category.

The SC Award for security product of the year went to Clearswift - with the judges lauding the product's ability to offer a "permissive" approach to applications and content whilst still adequately protecting users.

The M86 Secure Web Gateway and Palo Alto Networks' PA-4000 Enterprise Firewall were also highly commended.
