AMP has announced Kavita Mistry will take over the role of chief technology officer after its first-ever group CTO Felicia Trewin revealed she would leave early next year.
Trewin is set to lead data and technology functions for private health insurer Medibank.
AMP has since been seeking a replacement for Trewin since October, and said today it had appointed Mistry to the role following a “rigorous internal selection process”.
The company said Mistry first joined AMP in January 2023 to lead technology across its wealth business, “as well as its digital and enterprise platforms.”
“[Mistry] has strong technology leadership experience within financial services and a depth of capability in building partnerships and leading high performing teams,” AMP said in a statement.
Before AMP, Mistry worked at AustralianSuper, holding the roles of co-acting CTO and head of enterprise technology.
Prior to this, Mistry worked at ANZ Banking Group for close to 15 years, holding various senior technology leadership positions.
AMP chief executive Alexis George said the company is “delighted with the appointment of Kavita Mistry as chief technology officer."
“In her 12 months with AMP she has proven herself to be an excellent leader with a depth of capability in leading technology transformation," George said.
“She is well placed to lead the team through this next phase of transformation as part of the executive committee."
George thanked Trewin for her “focus on creating a unified technology team with a clear path forward."
“We wish Felicia all the best in her new role and thank her for her work reshaping the technology function and building a depth of talent.”
